Scout Builds A New Bridge for Pine Hill Arboretum in Enola

Scout Builds A New Bridge for Pine Hill Arboretum in Enola

"My name is Scott Mundis and I am a Life Scout with BSA Troop 51.  I attend East Pennsboro High School and I have been a resident of Enola my whole life.  I am excited to give back to my community.  My Eagle project will include clearing the half-mile trail, building a walking bridge to span the creek at the north end of the trail, and improving the entrance.

"This unique and tranquil site provides opportunities for nature exploration, plant and wildflower identifications, wildlife and bird watching, and hiking.  Since 2011, the arboretum has suffered heavy storm damage and this has left parts of the half-mile trail impassable."

Scott completed this project in September 2013 through a major team effort that he coordinated from start to finish.  Several work days were scheduled, both at his home and on site, to execute his vision for the trail project. He made a presentation to East Pennsboro Township commissioners and provided them with a new trail map that can be shared with visitors to the Arboretum.  The map can be downloaded through the link provided below. This property is accessible to the public, so please feel fee to check the new trail and bridge out for yourself!
